Mr. Thompson's Fourth Grade Class
BEHAVIOR PLAN
We believe in helping students to be responsible for their behavior through the Responsive Classroom model. In this model, students are involved in activities that will lead to development of our classroom rules. We’ll begin by using literature and discussion to think about our hopes and dreams. We’ll form our rules by discussing how we can work as a community to accomplish those hopes and dreams.
These rules will fit with North’s motto:
Be respectful.
Be responsible.
Be safe.
Be a problem-solver.
Students will earn movie tickets for following our classroom and school rules. These tickets will have a section to be entered in a drawing for prizes as well as a section to take home so students can share their good choices!
Students will receive “Take Two” slips for breaking the rules. “Take Two” slips should be signed by parents and returned the next day. On these slips, students will also be asked to write a plan for what they will do differently in the future to avoid the problem behavior. This plan will be in effect throughout North.
We will also utilize student planners to share information with parents. Students will record assignments in the planners daily, and students should have the planner initialed by parents nightly as well. Thanks so much for your help with this!
