Franctions and groupsThis Smart Board lesson will assist students in learning more about fractions. Created byMartha Portner
Fractions Same parts different wholesThis Smart Board lesson will assist students in learning more about fractions. Created byMartha Portner
Fraction BarsLearn about fractions using fraction bars.
Fraction PiecesWork with parts and wholes to learn about fractions.
Fractions - Adding Illustrates what it means to find a common denominator and combine.
Fractions - Comparing Judge the size of fractions and plot them on a number line.
Fractions - Equivalent Illustrates relationships between equivalent fractions.
Fractions - Naming Write the fraction corresponding to the highlighted portion of a shape.
Fractions - Parts of a Whole Relates parts of a whole unit to written description and fraction.
Fractions - Rectangle Multiplication Visualize and practice multiplying fractions using an area representation.
Fractions - Visualizing Illustrate a fraction by dividing a shape and highlighting the appropriate parts.
Equivalent Fractions by Harcourt School PublishersThis online game is a concentration-style game where the student tries to match pairs of cards that represent equivalent fractions by numbers and pictures. The cards are randomly generated so each game is new.
Virtual Base BlocksThis great online manipulative allows you to investigate decimal place value by placing, moving, breaking, and grouping base blocks to represent whole number and decimal number place values.
Thirteen Ways of Looking at a HalfExplore logical reasoning and special awareness through geometric shapes. Discover the thirteen ways half of an eight-piece square can be arranged without rotating or flipping the pattern
Fishy Fractions - Improper FractionsIn this game you help Ulani the pelican catch fish by matching improper fractions to their equivalent mixed number form, and vice versa.
Fraction Frenzy! In this game students match equivalent fractions. Each round of the game gets more difficult as more and more fractions are used.
The DecifractatorThis online tool allows the user to easily manipulate the numerator and denominator in a fraction, and then generates the corresponding decimal. The ease of manipulation allows students to discover patterns and relationships.
Mastering Fractions in Math New site very good
Rename in Lowest Terms CircleIn this online activity students are shown a circle with parts shaded in. First they fill in what fraction is represented by the circle. Then they rename it in lowest terms. Helpful explanations are on the site as well.
ReviseWise - FractionsThis web site uses colorful animation and great explanations to teach about fractions, visualizing fractions, and equivalent fractions. After the instruction, the students can take an online quiz to assess their understanding.
Virtual Base Blocks - Adding DecimalsThis online manipulative allows students to add decimals using base ten blocks that can be combined and split. You can do random problems or create your own.
Interactive Multiplication Table This site will display the result by showing the answer to numbers 0 - 12
The object of this game is simply to fit the pieces into the grids. To return a piece to the box, simply press the mouse button while "carrying" it on the mouse pointer off the grid. It IS possible and there are lots of ways to do it, but that doesn't make it easy. Have fun!

4th Grade - Tiling & Fencing (Area & Perimeter).pdf (Tiling and Fencing Unit)
Identify, describe and model intersecting, parallel and perpendicular lines and line segments; e.g., use straws or other material to model lines.
Describe, classify, compare and model two- and three-dimensional objects using their attributes.
Identify similarities and differences of quadrilaterals; e.g., squares, rectangles, parallelograms and trapezoids.
Identify and define triangles based on angle measures (equiangular, right, acute and obtuse triangles) and side lengths (isosceles, equilateral and scalene triangles).
Describe points, lines and planes, and identify models in the environment.
Specify locations and plot ordered pairs on a coordinate plane, using first quadrant points.
Identify, describe and use reflections (flips), rotations (turns), and translations (slides) in solving geometric problems; e.g., use transformations to determine if 2 shapes are congruent.
Use geometric models to solve problems in other areas of mathematics, such as number (multiplication/division) and measurement (area, perimeter, border).
Patterns Functions and Algebra Links
Use models and words to describe, extend and make generalizations of patterns and relationships occurring in computation, numerical patterns, geometry, graphs and other applications.
Odd One Out
Find the odd one out from the very sweet honey bears, it's more difficult than you think!
Pattern You will discover that you may make this easy or difficult. Outstanding website to view sequence patterns.
Represent and analyze patterns and functions using words, tables and graphs.
Construct a table of values to solve problems associated with a mathematical relationship.
Use rules and variables to describe patterns and other relationships.
Represent mathematical relationships with equations or inequalities.
Describe how a change in one variable affects the value of a related variable; e.g., as one increases the other increases or as one increases the other decreases.
